Dave Coulby, Owner
Dave grew up in the Denton, Maryland area and joined the US Air Force straight out of high school. Being assigned to both Offutt AFB, Nebraska and Osan AB, Korea and serving 2 tours, Dave switched to the Air Force Reserves and worked as a Defense Contractor in Bellevue, NE and then St Louis, MO. After serving numerous active duty tours in the reserves, Dave retired from the USAFR in 2014 with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. CoinHunters started in 2017 and when covid hit, we doubled up our auctions and realized I liked it a lot more than working for the government.
Dave is a licensed Auctioner in the Illinois State Auctioneers Association. He is a member of the American Numismatic Association. He has attended numerous ANA Summer Seminars under the instruction of the worlds’ top Numismatic leaders receiving letters of certification in each specialty. Dave is continually in contact with the top leaders in the coin market.
How to consign or sell to us?
Consigning is easy. You just box up what you have and send to us. Or, if you prefer we can come and pick it up. We do all the work. We catalog, photograph, research, identify, grade, attribute variety, market, sell, ship, and send you a check shortly after the auction closes.
Selling to us is just as easy. Bring your items in, or we can come to you. We’ll agree on a price, give you a check or cash, and take it away. Simple.
What do we buy?
Pert near everything. United States and World coins, U.S. and World currency, exonumia, tokens and medals, Gold, scrap gold, silver, scrap silver. But we also dabble in comic books, baseball cards, watches, jewelry, precious metals , stamps (philatelics)., and other small collectibles. Sometimes even some artwork.
Our coin shoppe is not like most shops. We don't stock large amounts of inventory and hold it for long periods of time. We run thousands of coins and collectibles through our auction every week. We have a near 100% turnover of inventory every month.
